Autism Culture in Indonesian (English Version)

In Indonesian, autism spectrum has been verily widened up on awareness on 21st century era. Followed by bilateral agreement with Australian Government, Indonesian has a right against disability disagreement across its citizen that still overlook a disability (including autism spectrum) as a disaster and taboo. Before this bilateral agreement, there are several non-profit organization and foundation that still exists until now. There would be discussed later in foundation section.

The writer starting up with the rules that available in Indonesian country by using a legal constitution that started on 2016, call as Undang-Undang Republik Indonesia no. 8 tahun 2016 about disability act for the patient. In that constitution, a disability patient, has a right for right support on any areas of any sectors, such as college, employment, and medical guarantee. Therefore, a disability patient has a freedom to impress the opinion about their limitless services in the Indonesian country. In the real situation, there is still a violation between this constitution, usually for goes on non-disability users, who does not care about disability patient, including autism spectrum, to work average to high as same level as normal citizen. There still an employment of autistic patient in government-related occupation or private-relation occupation, making the future of being work as autism spectrum is still minimum in Indonesian.

Now go on into non-profit organization section. In 1995, a family with autistic patient started to be worry about autism awareness in Indonesian country. This is call as the group of KOMPAA (Komunitas Peduli Autis dan ADHD), merging into the non-profit foundation as MPATI (Masyarakat Peduli Autis Indonesia). What of being successful achievement is the foundation being trusted as an official donation bank for autistic patient in Indonesian. Until this day, MPATI has an occupation on few peoples who also on high functioning autistic. After MPATI, there are an institution foundation that grows up from Christianity or other belief in Indonesian, such as Yakkum and Sayap Ibu. Sayap Ibu is the non-profit institution foundation that holds up a children or adult on mental illness and developmental delay such as autism in entire Indonesian country. Then, Yakkum is the non-profit Christian institution foundation that made a rehabilitation for autistic or other illness such as Schizophrenia in Central Java and Special Region of Yogyakarta. There is also a non-profit foundation that fully online, such as Teman Autis, and other foundation like accessible leisure and konekin. Therefore, many of non-profit foundation that present in Indonesian as a campaign for autism awareness and acceptance in any country that will be recognized in other countries out there.

There is event that follows the autism awareness and autism acceptance in Indonesian, such as Autism Awareness Day in mass digital media on 2 April, and one event that yearly special for autistic patient or parents with autism call as Walk for Autism by JCI Nusantara. Walk for Autism itself held on yearly on mid-month of year calendar, usually July or August. Walk for Autism is an Indonesian campaign for charity for other institution that legally recognize that mention in above.

Not only in international that have a parenting autism awareness that ready to spread the thoughts about autism in general or specific way to contribute.
